An icy wind blew across the trade fair grounds in Nuremberg. Inside the 15 halls, though, it was nice and warm – and full of ringing, tooting, and buzzing noises. Hardly surprising, given that 2,871 exhibitors from 63 countries clamor for attention at this event, the largest toy fair in the world. Players in this fun and colorful industry hustle to establish a presence in children’s bedrooms and hobby rooms – with confetti, kickboards, miniature steam engines, drones, dollhouses, plastic weapons, and more.

And, of course, toy cars. We went on a hunt for the most exciting new little Opels at the trade fair.
