A great rewarding ceremony took place
First of all, Pierpaolo Antonioli, Managing Director and Diesel Sector Executive Director, was welcomed on stage by Jump Start presenters: Andrea Pannuzzo, Controls System Engineer and Mattia Tassone, PMO Program Administrator.
THE REAL CELEBRATION STARTED WITH LDE AND SDE.
The set up was very nice: the new Opel Corsa with the SDE Display Engine on one side of the stage and the Insignia with LDE Display Engine on the other. Pannuzzo and Tassone welcomed on stage Max Sala, Global Assistant Chief Engineer-LDE, and Stefano Caprio Global Program Manager and C.E. SDE 1.3 L / XSDE 1.0 L. They presented the products and the teams that worked so hard to meet all the targets for these two engines.
The international launch of Insignia with LDE
Max Sala reported few words of the journalists at the international launch of Insignia with LDE few months ago:
“You did a great job with this engine, it’s really a unique powerhouse!”
The Boss Kettering Award
The Boss Kettering Award has been the other important celebration of the day. Richard Frank, Diesel Engine Hardware Engineering Manager, explained the importance of it and its meaning. The Boss Kettering Award is the highest recognition given in GM for technical innovations. The evaluation criteria are: creativity, IP and utilization.
A team based in Turin won this year, and even if they will get the official award in Rüsselsheim in few weeks from now, the feeling was that a simple celebration in Turin was really very important.
Sport Sport Sport
It was not over: The Soccer 5 aside Tournament ended in June and the winning teams were ready to jump on stage to get their Cups and medals. Antonioli with the help of Pannuzzo and Tassone did the rewarding ceremony.
In GMPT-E Turin sports plays a great role. The square in front of the building was transformed in a real sport center with people trying different activities: tennis, table tennis, volleyball, rowing and many others.
Donations
Special fund raisings have been organized in the first months of 2015. On one side players of the “Arrigoni Tournament” gave part of the subscription fees to the “Associazione contro il melanoma onluns” in memory of Stefano Arrigoni, and part to “CasaOz” that supports in-need families and their sick children.
A second fund raising has been done in favor of Unicef Italia. This started in April to help the Nepal population after a terrific earthquake. GMPT-E donated the same amount of money employees gave. Antonioli signed a huge check on stage together with the Local Unicef President.
